Clinique Review.

Hi,

For the past two weeks I have been following the Clinique skin care routine. It's really worked! I'm about to share with you the strengths and weaknesses of this regime and then you can judge whether it will work for you. I hope this helps!
First off, washing your face is essential for good skin. Squeeze a drop of Clinique Facial Soap onto an exfoliation pad and rub on wet skin. Then rinse off with water. How simple! The soap smells really nice, almost good enough to eat and really cleans up skin well.

The cleanser needs to be used next, pour a drop onto a cotton pad and rub on the skins surface in circles. The cleanser stings if you have cuts or spots and isn't gentle around the eyes so avoid them at all costs. However, it does remove left over makeup and dirt.

The lotion cools the skin after cleansing, smells lovely and keeps skin silky smooth. It's really refreshing!

Finally, the body butter works a treat. It is my favourite out of them all! It again, smells divine and it is fabulous to use before tanning to stop streaks and clumps!

Simple Homemade Face Mask.

Hi,

I've tried this face mask a few times now and it has worked a treat so I've decided to share one of my top beauty secrets with you!
This face mask cleanses and rejuvenates the skin and uses sugar instead of salt as the sugar isn't as harsh but still does the same job of exfoliating the dead skin from the face.

You'll need:
- 1 tsp of oats
- 2 tsp of Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp of sugar
- 3 tsp of warm water
- A squeeze of honey

· Pour oats and sugar into a bowl, one at a time.

· Add the yogurt and honey into the mixture to bind together.

· Then mix in the warm water to lighten the face mask.

· Whisk together and smooth evenly across the face. Leave for 10 minutes!

After your face will feel fresh and clean! You'll feel more relaxed if you lay out with cucumber placed over your eyes but if you're on the go (like me usually) then it's optional of course! Your face will smell pretty sweet after too!

Summer Shades

Hi,
This post has recently been put up on another blog when I did a guest post and has had such a good reaction I've decided to put it on here!

The summer is upon us and with this gorgeous sunshine we’re having at the moment I can imagine everyone is out and about. From park visits to BBQ’s and picnics to swimming, you’ve got to be somewhere outdoors this summer and what happens when you’re outdoors? People see you of course! This blog post will inform you on which lipstick shades suit you so you can look amazing when people see YOU.
Baby Pink – This colour suits olive and more dark skin tones. For example, if your skin tone is the same as Halle Berry’s or Jennifer Lopez’s then this colour is the one for you. Lighter shades will stand out on these skin tones and be more visible. The first thing people will see!

Bright Pink – Bright pink looks fabulous on any skin tone. On paler skin it will stand out and on darker and olive skin tones it will do the same and make teeth look brighter. This look suits Katy Perry, Kelly Osbourne and Nicki Minaj the best!
Orange – Orange with golden tones suits olive skin the best. Worn with other gold make-up and accessories it really helps to give a healthy, golden glow. Bright oranges work on paler skin tones for the same reason as above.
Nude – Nude and neutral lipstick shades look the best on olive skin tones. They freshen up a darker complexion and worn with a little shimmer can help produce a sunny glow. On pale skin tones neural colours blend. This is not a good look.

Red – Red suits anyone but most of all the pale girls among us. Having paler skin and wearing red makes teeth look dazzling white and makes you appealing as you’re contrasting the pale and the bright tones. Don’t wear this with Brights everywhere else though. Let the lips do the talking. Smokey eyes look glorious with this look. View Natalie Portman and Taylor Swift for inspiration!
Tip! – Never test lipsticks on your hands. They have a different texture and colouring than your face. Try make-up on the jawline if possible.

Next Sale.

Hi,
So during the peak of the sales, my mum and I went shopping to one of the most popular sales nationwide. No, we weren’t those women who turned up outside the doors of Next at 6 in the morning but still, we went. Surprisingly, since I never usually shop at Next, I found all my best bargains there.
Shorts, £6 - My first and most favourite steal I managed to find were these Lipsy sequined shorts, designed by singer Pixie Lott. They fit perfectly and look great with heels and a vest top for a night out. They also look classy with a pair of black tights if you’re not a fan of whipping out your pins.

Leggings, £6 – These leopard print leggings stood out to me as they are bang on trend. I’ve always wanted a pair but didn’t dare go for the bright orange and black pairs so these leggings are good for fashion followers who aren’t so out there. They can be worn with heels or flats and will look amazing with a pair of boots this coming autumn/winter.

Blazer, £16 – The first thing that caught my attention on this blazer was the cute cream bow print. They make a stereotypical ‘boyish’ blazer very feminine. The silk feel also makes it look elegant and expensive.

Raspberry Milk.

Hi,

In the supermarket yesterday whilst doing the weekly shop, I saw something that I remember having as a child and it instantly made me smile.
Strawberry Milk!
Ok so I know this isn't really unheard of but Crusha Mixa in raspberry flavour just had to be tried. You can pour as little or as much in as you like depending on the strength you want your beverage to be. It's such a nice summery flavour too!

All you need is a spoon, Crusha Mixa and a glass of milk!

· Pour milk into a glass.

· Mix in the Crusha Mixa with however much or little you like and then stir.

· Once stirred, it'll look like this. Enjoy!

Such a simple way to brighten up plain old milk whilst getting your much needed calcium intake too.

Treating a Cold.

Hi,

I originally wasn't going to do a blog update until tomorrow however I need to publish this post to help you lot out there who like me have the dreaded flu.
This is about my hundredth cold since September and I hate it! (Personally, I blame my mother who never breastfed me as a child so I now suffer from a weak immune system).
My nose is blocked, I have a fever and I'm struggling to keep food down but what helps me?
In this post I'm going to be sharing with you my four favourite ways to help me through these terrible few days of cold I have to overcome.

First of all, I always suffer with my nose. I have ever since I was a child and the main thing that helps is this.
Sudafed nasal spray unblocks the nose for up to 10 hours. I use this at night before bed so I don't suffer from sleep deprivation which makes me terribly moody. I'd not recommend that it is used whilst pregnant or breast feeding though. Usage for under 12's isn't suggested either. Sudafed shouldn't be used for more than 7 days as it can cause deterioration of the sinuses even more!

Throughout the day, I like to use an old favourite. Vicks vapo-rub is a smooth, silky gel that can be rubbed on the chest or underneath the nose which releases a substance which helps unblock the nose. I use it as an alternative to Olbas Oil which I think smells pretty vile!

To treat the other symptoms I have, like a headache and chesty cough, I use Beechams All in One tablets after every meal. I just take the one as I think this is strong enough to do the job. It relieves tummy aches if you suffer from those to! I take the tablets opposed to the medicine as they don't have a gross after taste but most people favour the medicine.

Finally, there's always a chance that the reason I have constant colds is hay fever. I've always denied it for some reason but when it got to a point where it was really bad, I started to use Piriteze tablets. I take one daily, in the morning with my tea and toast and to be honest, they really help with the hay fever. They also help with any other allergies, especially pet allergies.

I hope these methods of survival help!

The Beauty Bible.

Hi,

Did you know that using the wrong type of make-up can increase your age by 10+ years?
Did you know that there is a certain time of day when cellulite looks worse?
Did you know you can eat your way to better hair and skin?
No, I didn't either until I received The Beauty Bible a few years ago. It is a valuable book full of tips and treatments to keep you looking fabulous all year round. It's still available in all good bookstores and is priced at a purse pleasing £9.99. In this post I’ll be sharing my favourite pages with you and will be giving you an insight into the most useful sections of The Beauty Bible.

Hair
Until recently, I was a blonde bombshell but being naturally brunette it really damaged my hair. I was forever asking myself a particular question about how to fix my locks. This is the question and the answer!

Hair on the face, like eyebrows must never be forgotten about either, In the past I have dabbled in waxing and threading to try and avoid the dreaded tweezers but this handy little guide on eyebrow plucking and shaping really helped.

Make-up
Before I was a regular make-up user, there were many words on the back of bottles and packets that I never used to understand. Now I know that it is beyond important to know what they mean as they can play a crucial part in how your skin looks overall. Here is a list of the four most common beauty terms that are unknown by the British public and their definitions!

Foundation is the base for your face when applying make-up. It can be the difference in having flawless looking skin or not. This book provides some top tips on how to get fantastic foundation.

The Body
The body is probably the most important feature that you have to care for. How your body and skin look set a tone for what everything else should look like. These are the two body issues I found I suffered most with and the answers really helped, take a look!
