Garlic infused bread and tomato salad

Hi,

I've been trying to eat a lot healthier recently since I'm off to Corfu in 52 days! I'll be doing a post pretty soon on the results of my start weight to my beach body. It's going pretty well I must say.
In this post I'll be sharing a recipe that I'm totally in love with at the minute, it is so simple and easy to do.

You'll need: Garlic oil, cherry tomatoes, 1 slice of wholemeal bread, ham and cous cous (brown rice and pasta are also ideal)

  • Whilst the bread is toasting, pour approx. 2 tablespoons of garlic oil into a bowl and add a twist of salt and pepper.

  • Rip the toasted bread into small pieces and stir into the oil mixture. Leave this to marinate for 5-10 minutes whilst heating the cous cous and chopping the ham and tomatoes.
  • Finally, simply bind together all ingredients and enjoy!

This Month...

Hi,

This month I've been to two weddings and celebrated my Dad's birthday!

There was a mere week between my cousin Sam and my Grandad's wedding, it was all go as you can imagine!
Here is a photo of me and my dad on the beautiful golf course where one of the weddings was held. The sun even came out for an hour!
My dress is from NoAgg.com and my wedges are from New Look.

Last night I went to a lovely pub near my house to celebrate my Dad's birthday with my whole family. I bought him a bottle of his favourite whiskey that he never tires of! I also saw this sweet hanging ornament in a cute little boutique near where I work and had to buy it and I'm sure my dad teared up a bit inside!

Recent Purchases

Hi,

First of all, how does everyone like my new blog layout? I love it!

Something else I've been doing this week is shopping, of course. I'm here to give you all my reviews, good or bad, on the products I've bought.

I've been looking for Vita Liberata fake tan for ages since I found out it's what Binky from Made in Chelsea uses. I found it in Boots last week and bought the dark mousse for a purse pleasing £22.50. The tan spread far and had a lovely smell. It went dark straight away and developed further over the next 4-6 hours. When washed off it left a glowing even tan. I would definitely recommend it to you!

After seeing reality tv star Tom Pearce tweet numerous times about his online shop, noagg.com, I decided to give it a try. A lgorgeous scoop back bodycon dress instantly caught my eye and I didn't hesitate to buy when I found that it was only £10.49! When the dress arrived it was a different colour than I expected. I thought it was going to be navy and white but it turned out to be grey and white, not a huge deal though after falling in love with it when I tried it on, excellent quality! Below is a photo of me sporting the dress at a recent wedding!

The L'oreal Matt and Messy Salt Spray advert on TV had me looking for this product for weeks. It seemed to be sold out everywhere, must be good I thought. However, when I found the item in Boots and took it home to try, it was a disaster. This product did nothing but make my hair dry and smell awful. No waves or sexy bed head appeared, such a disappointment. DO NOT BUY.

Finally, my big splurge of the week was this bright blue Versace bag. It's fun for summer and has two big compartments for all my things! It's really good and for £142 it should be! The only thing I could say is that it may be even better with a long carrier strap. Also I was able to check the authenticity just in case I wasn't sure.

Gorgeous Glitter Nails

Hi,

Recently I've become a huge fan of glittery nails. I've sported them for two weddings, three parties and a BBQ this month. They are simply fab for every occasion!
To get these nails I use glitter pots, not normal glittery nail varnish. They are available from all great nail salons or Amazon if you're looking for a bargain! They are cheaper and come in a wider variety of colours. They are also never ending!
In this post I'm going to show you how to apply the glitter in the best way possible.
Choose a colour and let's go!

What you need:
  • Nail Varnish
  • Glitter pots
  • Water
  • Cotton Buds
  • Clear top coat

First of all, paint your nails with a base coat and then your desired top coat of colour. Apply two coats if needed then wait for them to dry.

Then add an additional top clear coat and whilst still wet, dip a cotton bud into the water then straight into the glitter. Be quick!

Ensure you wait until your nails are fully dry before adding another top coat and then let your nails dazzle!

Rimmel Match Perfection Review

Hi,

Since my early teens I've been using L'Oreal True Match foundation, yet recently it's started to irritate my skin so after scouting around for about an hour (much to my boyfriend's dismay) I decided on Rimmel's Match Perfection foundation. The product certainly matches it's title; it is perfect!

For a mere £6.99, this foundation is heaven in a bottle. It smells gorgeous and is as light as a feather on the skin. I can even manage to apply without putting moisturiser on first which is an achievement with the skin type I have! The 'Light Nude' shade I bought also matches my skin perfectly even when I haven't tanned so I don't have the unattractive orange face white neck look.

For a flawless finish, use Rimmel's Stay Matte pressed powder over the top.

Loving Rimmel at the moment and thought I'd share with you all!

Summer is soon upon us!

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer (slightly), I thought I'd write a post about my favourite spring/summer trends for 2013.

The biggest by far is monochrome. Wear black or white separately this season to look cute and classical but mix them together if you want to look the best! My monochrome midi skirt is from New look for £14.99 and can be dressed up or down for a fab day or night look. It also ticks off the trend of stripes which is set to be HUGE this season, 2 for the price of 1!

Pastel colours work on any skin tone and can be worn clothes or makeup wise. You simply can't go wrong! Get my mint green pastel tee from H&M for a fab £7.99. There are so many colours to choose from too. I have five! Wear with jeans or shorts for a cool look in the day or tucked into a skater skirt for a naughty but nice night look. Green, along with yellow is also a massive hit for summer.

Finally, one of my all time faves is leather. My leather waistcoat is from Miss Selfridge for around £80. Sleeveless jackets are a must to vamp up any summer look with a bit of edge. The lack of sleeve also counter balances the heat from the leather.

Student Cookbook - Simple Pasta and Tomatos

Hi,

For Christmas I received a little helpful book from my lovely grandfather to help me learn to cook.
Tonight, for the first time, I've used it and I'm here to share my meal with you!
I started off simple as that's usually the best way so here goes...

These are the things you'll need:
Pasta, Cherry Tomatos, 1/4 of an onion, garlic infused oil, cream cheese and salt & pepper!

Boil your pasta for around 10 minutes.

Into a large pan, add a splash of garlic oil and then the chopped onion and tomatos. Stir well and don't leave unattended. Take off the heat after around 3 minutes.

Finally, mix cream cheese into drained pasta and then stir in the onion and tomato mixture. Healthy and yummy in your tummy.

VoilĂ !
